I recently went on vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC and had such an amazing encounter with God. One of my best friends came with me and she was talking to me about sea glass. It's old trash that's gone through the water and ends up on the shore as a beautiful, rare piece of glass that people look for and collect. Usually, though, it's easy to spot because its so rare. I was thinking that as a Christian, I'm kindof like sea glass. I go through trials and temptations but as long as I keep my focus on God and let Him do the work He needs to do in me, I end up a beautiful, unique, rare woman that God formed and molded with His own hand. If it wasn't for all of the struggles that I've gone through emotionally and spiritually, I wouldn't be the woman I am today. To some people, I stand out because I'm different from the rest of the world, just like sea glass. It stands out from the rest of the rocks and sand on the beach because it's different and people want to know what it is and what its like. A lot of times people feel the same way of people who carry the presence of God with them everywhere they go. There are some people that I want to be near and want to get to know just because I can see God working through them whenever I even speak to them. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're going through a situation or feeling like you're not worth much; you are. God sees you as a beautiful creation because He has formed you and molded you into what He wants you to be. Whether you accept Him or not is your choice, but He has a plan. Just like sea glass has to be thrown around in the ocean before it's made beautiful, so do we. We have to be tempted by the enemy and tried by the world to become the beautiful people that we're intended to be. It's crazy how a walk along the beach could arise all of this, right? Not really. Just walking along the water I thought to myself how beautiful it was and how amazing God is for creating such beautiful things that we take for granted every single day. I know that from now on, I'm definitely not taking anything for granted. Especially when there are beautiful things out there for me to still see. :)
don't look at me for what you see, see me for my heart. see me for the depths of who I am.
