Metacognitive Assignment: Part 7
When it comes to weaknesses with school and learning in general there are soo many things that i could name. I think the most important one is that I love to procrastinate. I'll get a project assigned and I won't start it until a few days before its due. Not only does it stress me out but then I don't do as well as I should because I wait too long. To not procrastinate so much, I think starting an assignment as soon as I receive it will reduce lots of stress. Not only that but setting reminders on my phone to do assignments and study will help me, since my phone is always on me. Another weakness that I have is the fact that I don't look over the material i'm learning in class unless there's a test, and not only that, but I tend to study the night before the test and don't retain any of the material. Studying in small amounts each night or just reading over the material and practicing problems (if its math) will help me retain more material and be able to just review before the test, not try to cram all the material. A weakness that I think is going to be hard to change is that unless i'm interested in the material, I tend to not care about it or not think it's important. In order to fix and strengthen this weakness, I'll have to just think positively about the class itself and focus on what it will do for me, careerwise. If i do well in my classes and truly learn and enjoy the material i'll be able to use it more effectively when it comes time to work or even help my children learn it in the future and then in the long run earn more money, which is a necessity. It's kind-of a far stretched improvement plan, but it's true.
