The life of a college student

So, this week I moved in to college. I met new friends, started living with a roommate, started my on campus job, ate nasty cafeteria food and stayed up way later than normal, but all in all I've had an amazing time. These next four years will shape me in to the woman that i'm destined to be and help me step my foot in the door of the career that I want in the future. I've made friends that might be friends for life and made friends that might not last long but all in all i've already learned lessons. I've learned that sometimes independence shows you how much you truly need those who love you. Also, I've learned that once you venture off in to the college world, those friends that were once so close to you become people you rarely talk to and only see on facebook or speak to through texts here and there. As sad as it is to admit, it's reality. The friends that I had in high school will probably soon become acquaintances and I'm going to have to be ok with it. And I think I am. The friends who stick by me through the college years are the ones who are true and that's fine with me. ♥
