Take a Look Around...

What is this "love" you speak of?

When I think about people being "in love", I envision a perfect couple. This is what I picture: a tall guy with a girl relatively short, maybe a few inches shorter than him. They're walking along the beach holding hands and laughing with each other over something that no one else would understand. The girl steps on a rock and the guy picks her up so she doesn't have to be in pain. He then places her on the sand, checks her foot to make sure she's okay and then kisses her just to reassure her that she's good. Then, they sit in the sand and watch the sun set over the water. It's corny, I KNOW, but that's what I picture true love to be. It's when two people love each other despite their flaws and bring out the best in each other. If one is happy, the other one is happy too. If one is sad, the other does whatever is necessary to make their loved one happy again. Not only that but they understand each other, talk to each other, and most important trust the other enough not to break their heart. Lots of relationships these days only focus on sex or just the companionship of someone, but it's so much more than that. I'd rather be with someone who genuinely cares for me and wants the best for me than someone who just wants to get it in. If you know what I mean. Also, my perfect man is a man that has a fear of God, just like I do. I want a man who will go through God in order to get to me. Someone who will lift me up when I'm down with God's word and someone who will pray for me all the time and someone who respects me. I feel like there is such a lack of respect in relationships today. When couples fight, they call each other names and speak to each other as if they were just some random person on the street. Although Nicholas Sparks movies are unrealistic at times and make us girls expect so much from guys, those movies demonstrate what true love is.  Clearly I'm no expert in relationships, but I know that when I experience real love, it'll be everything that I've hoped and dreamed of. Probably even more.
