Take a Look Around...

My lifeline (instead of time line) clever, i know. :)

Metacognitive Assignment : Part 1
There are a bunch of things that i could add to the timeline of my life and academic goals. I guess i could be creative and make a cool one with pictures and stuff, but i'm just going to make it simply and easy to understand. Ready? Ok, here we go.So, i was born in Boston, MA on September 2, 1992. I lived in Roslindale, MA, close to my family until the 2nd grade, when I moved to Norton. Before moving, i attended the Hernandez school and the John F. Kennedy Elementary School. I always loved to spend time with my family and seemed to always have a passion for helping people. It sounds corny, i know, but it's true. I attended the JCS then the HAY until 6th grade. Then, i switched to NTCS until the 10th grade when i switched to NHS. While i was at NTCS, i played basketball and softball. They became ways for me to release stress and just have fun. The school became extremely expensive and kind-of annoying because of the size and such (no offense to the people there) so i went to NHS at the beginning of my junior year. Since i was in about the 5th grade, my family took in foster children (and we still do today). Since then, i've wanted to be some type of counselor/social worker to help the children that i've seen come in and out of my house for so long.
Now that its my senior year and college is simply months away, i hope to study social work and get a masters degree. I want to become a social worker and hopefully work for the Department of Social Services to help children and teens who don't have stable homes. Some of the social workers that we've had to deal with have been terrible; i'll make sure i'm not one of THOSE social workers. I hope to attend Eastern Nazarene College to not only get a degree in Social Work, but also continue my religious studies (b/c religion and my faith is a HUGE part of my life. you'll hear about it in later posts, i promise.) If i don't attend ENC, if i got accepted, i'd attend Boston College, because their social work program is awesome as well, or so i've heard. I would still be in the city, which is one of the things that i definitely want, and i would live on campus. I'd continue to go to church and attend my youth group, but i wouldn't study it at school, because BC doesn't have religious courses like ENC does.
Another route that i would take, aside from Social Work, would be cosmotology in hopes to open my own hair salon. I've always been that girl that loves to do her friends' hair and try different designs and such. It would be fun and interesting to be able to make my clients and customers happy with what i've done with their hair. :)
