Best Friends ?

What do you think of when you hear the term best friend? Does a specific person come to mind? Do you reminisce on friends that you used to have who are now merely acquaintences who you rarely talk to? I was talking to a friend of mine today as she was doing my hair (thanks, twinnie xoxo) and we got into a conversation about best friends and how today, it's hard to find someone who you can truly rely on and count on to be there for you no matter what. I have about three people i can consider my best friends. One of them being my mother, who i can go to with anything and who i know will never betray me. My best friend has been there for
me through so much and even though we haven't been best friends for a super long time, she's always been the one i can go to with anything and everything. From my sad days to my happy days, she's always been there. When i went through my first break-up, she was there with me 100% of the way, making me feel better and helping me. Although we both work and have busy schedules, we always manage to find time to just hang out and have fun; whether it's going to the movies or hanging out at my house watching movies with cute men in them ;) i know for a fact that she'll never leave. It's weird though, to think about the people that i once called my best friends or the people that i was once extremely close with. As i was talking to my twinnie today, she was telling me a story about how she had a friend who completely changed and as a result, lost her trust in that matter of not even a year. It's sad to think that good friendships can be lost so easily. I used to be close with so many people and today, we hardly even talk. Whether it be because of school, work, relationships or simply just growing apart, everything changes so fast. i guess the reason i wanted to talk about this is because a lot of times we take our friends for granted. We think that they'll always be around so we don't have to tell them how much we appreciate them or how thankful we are of them. Honestly, tell the people you love how much you care and that you'll always be there, because sometimes that's all someone needs to hear to know that they have a true friend.
